So, what is financial aid? Financial aid consists of scholarships, 奖助金, 贷款, 和 employment opportunities to help students finance college 和 other postsecondary education.  Financial aid resources are intended to supplement, 而不是取代, the financial resources of the family.

Financial aid exists primarily in two categories:

  • 以业绩为基础的援助 is gener所有y given to students in recognition of special skills, 人才, 和/or academic accomplishments.

To achieve this objective,

Determining Financial Need

When applying for federal student aid, the information you report on the “Free Application for Federal Student 援助 “, 或“FAFSA”, is used to calculate your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Cost of attendance (COA) is also referred to as a budget. Financial need is determined by subtracting the EFC from the COA. Please see the formula below.

Cost of attendance – Expected Family Contribution = Financial Need

Financial Need – Other Outside Assistance = Eligibility for Need-Based 援助 (奖助金, subsidized student 贷款 和 work study)
